The Last Summer by Moira Daly 4/5
Free copy provided by the author for an honest review.
This book is set up in an unusual manner, it doesn't have chapters but the story is narrated by having each girl's story described. I really enjoyed this book, I loved getting to know each girl and who they were. Physical descriptions were a little much and I ended up skipping over most of those paragraphs but by the end I felt like the girls were real people. When I finished it last night I was left with a bad taste in my mouth because none of them deserved to be murdered and I was just so sad. That is the sign of a good book. And for a self published author I found it to be extremely well written.

Romancing His Rival by Jennifer Shirk 5/5
ARC provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Some people have high standards for giving 5/5 on a review, however my only criteria involves whether or not I smiled the whole time I read it. I smiled the entire time I read this book. It was fun, cute and I read it in one sitting I was that into it.
This book had sexual tension like you wouldn't believe, but there was no sex scene... how impressive is that? Very, very impressive, I'm left wanting more for the characters. I loved their own personal growth/journeys that led them to making the choices they did.
Will this book win any awards? Probably not, but did it win a place in my heart? Definitely.
You can bet I'm reading more of this author.

Serious Moonlight by Jenn Bennet 4/5
ARC provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I'm a huge fan of this author so when I was accepted to receive an arc, I died. When this book comes out I'm lining up to buy it and give it a proper reread in its final form. I read it on my kindle and there were definitely a few grammar mistakes and it started off slightly confusing in the introduction to the mystery thing.
I loved the characters in this book they were nothing like I expected and I loved that they both had their own issues that they were working on. The main guy character was of mixed background and I loved that, his family was so perfect and I loved them! I also loved the character growth for the main girl, she just really blossomed over the novel from a very insecure young girl to a more sure of herself version.
This is a great read if you love romance, contemporary and mysteries!

The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han ✭✭/✭✭✭✭✭ DNF at about 75%
This book is out in the world for someone, that someone is not me.
Honestly, I'm just kind of giving up on this one. I would maybe go back and finish it at a later date but the whole crazy love story isn't very good. The older brother is sooooo moody, and I love a good broody character but he's so unbelievably so. And all the head games are the reason I'm stopping this one.
Um, ya.

Skyward by Brandon Sanderson ★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★ a million stars
I fucking loved this book.
I don't even know what to say. I really fucking loved this book.
For real though, I don't always enjoy much sci-fi but this books was incredible. The characters were my favorite and I loved everything about how Sanderson decided to portray the sci-fi aspects. I don't know anything about technology, like nothing, I can make a blog on google because it's easy, like iphones. This book did not overwhelm me with things I couldn't understand about ships, but I found them well explained/described by Sanderson.
I know many people were talking about the main character and how she could get very annoying, but I loved her. I felt her grow as a person throughout the entire book, all those annoying things about her in the beginning meant nothing to me by the end, and although many of those quirks remained, for me that's all it was, quirks.
If you're a fan of Sanderson this is a must buy.

Snow in Love ☆☆☆/☆☆☆☆☆
4 short holidays stories by Kasie West, Melissa de la Cruz, Nic Stone and Aimee Friedman
I do have to say that 2 out of these 4 reads are rated better in my opinion. I loved Kasie West's story, hers was probably the best written, while the other best read was Nic Stone's, it was also really diverse which was refreshing!

Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan ☆☆☆☆/☆☆☆☆☆
First things first, there is definitely a trigger warning for sexual abuse, however I do feel as if it was handled well, especially as the author's note disclaims it right away and gives helpline numbers (which I've never seen in a book before but loved and think it should be done more often).
I do think that this book is a little over-hyped, I didn't think it was the most incredible thing I've read but it was very good. I enjoy diversity in books and this was a perfect buddy read with my spouse and mom. I loved the world building the most, it was very well thought out and I honestly can't wait for the second book in the series.
